Description of the route

This cycle route of 83 km takes you on the mythical roads of Saint Jacques de Compostelle between Crozant and Saint Martin Sainte Catherine. From valley to valley, have breaks in villages full of characters and, as a pilgrim, discover the little chapels which are bordering the itinerary.

The cycle route begins in the West Creuse Country by Crozant, revealing the ruins of a medieval fortress situated next to the confluence of the Creuse and the Sédelle, and then, it crosses Saint-Germin and goes on to La Souterraine, a medieval town. However, the paths and the roads are marked out in direction of La Porte St Jean and the Church Notre-Dame. The rest of the route follows the Valley de la Gartempe and will lead you to Grand Bourg, then to Bénévent-l’Abbaye where you could admire the Abbatiale built in the XIIe century. To finish, the itinerary completes into the Valley du Thaurion and crosses authentic and small town with a wealth of local heritage.
