Departure / Arrival: Beauvais, 23460 Saint-Pierre-Bellevue These vast common fields were traditionally areas for pasture and food crops. Some traces of these ancient times will mark your route: plank bridge (bridge made up of granite slabs), sunken lanes, agricultural benches, dry stone walls, pond dyke, ruined mill ... This centuries-old landscape will be turned upside down after the Second World War Global, by the agricultural decline affecting the region and the will of the State to develop, through coniferous woodlands, these lands abandoned by man. From the Beauvais reception area, take the dirt road straight ahead, descending between meadows. Take the path on the right between the dry stone walls. Cross the Beauvais stream over a plank bridge, then cross bog and forest patches. Take the path opposite still between the dry stone walls to the top of Puy Beaumont. Take the time to admire the landscape at 300 ° and rest on the earthen bench. Begin the descent by traversing several laces in leafy plots, you will pass in front of an old shepherd's lodge. At the bottom of the slope, at point 3, turn left and walk along the Mazure bog. (this section is shared with the Mazure moorland and peat bog discovery trail, you have the option of extending your route). At the crossroads, go straight and turn left in the forest plot to reach the boardwalks. Follow them to the Beauvais stream, cross the footbridge to arrive on an old pond dike. Below, you will discover the ruins of the old Beauvais mill, take the path to the left which will bring you back to the crossroads and finish straight ahead to return to the reception area.
