The natural and heritage riches are already well promoted thanks to a network of 375 km of maintained and marked hiking trails. 32 hiking trails have been set up by a working group of volunteers and elected officials to be found at www.rando-portesdelacreuse.com

For biking, the base VTT-VTC de la Roussille in Châtelus-Malvaleix offers 8 marked circuits from 9km to 67kmand that’s without forgetting the Creuse à Vélo circuit which crosses several communes in this territory!

Friends fishermen, there too you will find your happiness

For the River fishing, the spots are of course“the small Creuse” with its wild trout but also its small whitewater fish, gudgeon, minnows … but also“The Creuse” for carnivores.

2 other developed bodies of water are also conducive to pond fishing as well as water activities and swimming: the body of water of la Prugne and that of the Roussille.

Surprising cultural and historical sites

On the heritage side, set out to discover cultural and historical sites such as the ruins of the Château de Malval, the fortified church of Bonnat, the site of “la Pierre aux fées” in Roches, the Genouillac viaduct, the site of the Pierre Ebue in Jalesches and many others…

A surprising site: the Château du Puy in Tercillat

The Château du Puy, offers to children as well as to older ones, in a unique historical site, a show and animations around the stories of Charles Perrault and the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. The morals of these stories are intended for children who make the imaginary characters their own by getting on stage and dressing up. The Seigneurie du Puy, open to the public during the summer months, is composed, in addition to a very old residence, of a: – Tourist site “Labeled Heritage” of 12 hectares – Classified streams, “air-conditioned” indoor theater – Fables adapted to kindergarteners (actors or puppets): The Cicada and the Ant, The Raven and the Fox, The Frog, The Wolf and the Lamb. – Fables specially designed for primary, middle and high schools: “The Lion in Love, Women and the Secret…”

Note also the creation of a third place: the CHAI. It is a place to share experiences, projects and desires! It is a place to meet, discover and work, it is the old village square or bistro where everyone came as they were, told each other and found support, solidarity. Concretely, the coordinator of the Chai, “the Concierge”, animates the place and welcomes you for times of workshops, apero-causeries, work space rental by the day, week or month… Through this place, the will is to favor the link between the inhabitants and develop the economy through new forms of activities such as telework and coworking.
