Felletin: “Cradle of the tapestry”, land of builders and gateway to the Regional Natural Park of Millevaches is a village of character as evidenced by the magnificent mansions, half-timbered houses, medieval bridge on the banks of the Creuse River, fountains and the architectural details to be discovered along the streets. The village also retains an important religious heritage.

BLESSAC

The heart of the village is marked by the presence of the former priory of young girls (16^th and 17^th century buildings) depending on the order of Fontevraud.

To discover during a hike, the dolmen of Pierre-la-Fade, just 1 km from the village (1^st path on the right on the road to Saint-Sulpice les Champs.

Many events are also organized every year such as the Orchard Festival, the Blueberry Festival or the Tranloup Nature Race

GENTIOUX-PIGEROLLES

This village reminds us that the region was a great center of emigration for construction workers as evidenced by the statue of Notre Dame du Bâtiment. Don’t miss the unmissable militant war memorial: “Cursed be war”. Also make a stop at the Pont de Senoueix, an enchanting site whose landscape has become one of the most famous in the region.

SAINT QUENTIN LA CHABANNE

13^th century church with the unique particularity in Creuse of a non-adjoining wall steeple with a horizontal crown pierced by 4 arches. Don’t miss the 11^th century crypt used as a setting for the statue of Notre Dame de Sous-Terre, a moving black Virgin invoked for the protection of children and the subject of an important popular cult.

SAINT MARC A LOUBAUD

In the heart of the Plateau de Millevaches, the village is home to the magnificent Lavaud-Gelade lake in a protected site (fishing and swimming unsupervised). The path of the Pierres Fades (3 km from the village of Chertrain) allows the discovery of granite chaos and the organization of a traditional village.

SAINT AVIT DE TARDES

A pleasant village gathered around an old priory with its church adjoining a bell tower. The adjacent cemetery allows you to discover sumptuous funerary monuments.

It was on the Mas du Clos racing circuit that the film “Michel Vaillant”, inspired by the comics by Graton & Graton was filmed in 2003.

VALLIERE

In the church square, Pierre d’Aubusson, grand master of the order of Saint Jean de Jerusalem in the 15^th century, greets the passing visitor. In addition to its built heritage, Vallière is full of excellent craftsmen.

ONF interpretation path (3.5 km) to discover the natural environments, local flora and fauna. Relaxation area on the site of the Pont des Poupées and the Masvaudier pond.
