Conférence : Quand nos émotions donnent le vertige

As part of Brain Week, and in partnership with Universcience, Micro-Folie has made available the replay of two themed lectures on the brain. The content is tailored to different audiences: this session is aimed at connoisseurs and adults alike. Just as the eye senses light, our inner ear senses our position and movements by calibrating itself to the Earth's gravity. In addition to balance, this little-known sense is the basis of self-perception. It generates the emotion of movement, where pleasure, fear and terror intermingle to the point of vertigo. This emotion of balance is instinctive and essential to our survival. How does our brain manufacture emotions capable of playing with our perceptions? From failure to balance, what is the precision mechanism that spontaneously engages to keep us on our feet?
