This exhibition, based in Fougères and Le Bourg-d?Hem, not only retraces a biography, but also explores the genesis of a major moral and political commitment. It shows how Bloch, one of the greatest historians of the 20th century, used his personal crisis in Creuse to forge a powerful analysis (L'Étrange Défaite) and, ultimately, to transform this place of refuge into a springboard for the armed Resistance. The exhibition will serve as a tribute to the exemplary citizen and to the strength of historical analysis in the face of chaos, while highlighting Creuse not as a place of isolation, but as the crucible for the reaffirmation of the French Resistance identity, whose anchorage was definitively sealed by the burial in 1977. It constitutes the historical and moral argument for the nation's decision to admit Marc Bloch to the Panthéon
