Jean Atwood, a young intern, meets Franz Karma, the doctor in charge of the "women's medicine" department where she is to complete her last six months of practical training
where she is to complete her final six months of practical training. Such is their opposition that Karma quickly gives Jean an ultimatum: seven days to decide whether or not to do the semester together. The play describes women's medicine, its gestures, its particularities, its pitfalls, its ethical questions.
