A few hundred meters south-west of the village of Saint-Goussaud lies the Puy-de-Jouer. Formerly covered with heather and broom alternating with coppice, it is now largely planted with conifers. The Mont Jouer site is of both landscape and archaeological interest.

It is a remarkable site from which the view at one time extended over 5 départements. At an altitude of 687 m, the Puy de Jouer was a natural observation and surveillance post, thanks to the large natural gap between the Monts d'Ambazac and the steep gorges of the Taurion. Various archaeological digs have uncovered the ancient remains of a semicircular, stepped construction 9 m wide, the shape of which is reminiscent of a theater, and the remains of walls that appear to form a pool. The excavations uncovered enamels, a fibula and various fragments of sculpture.
