The Monts de Guéret Triathlon Area
Designed by the Station Sports Nature des Monts de Guéret, the Espace Triathlon offers a range of facilities suited to sportspeople wanting to train in a privileged natural setting. It includes :
- A double swim lane integrated into the area developed in summer, accessible to swimmers whether or not they are triathletes.
- A transition zone with 6 boxes where triathletes can leave their bikes and bags. Located at the entrance to the road training track, it rests on a concrete slab for greater ease of use.
- Marked routes for running, cycling and mountain biking, so that you can run smoothly from the transition zone.
Courses adapted to each discipline
Swimming
The swimming course is a 400-metre round trip, marked out by a 3-metre-wide swimming lane. This facility is accessible all year round. Outside summer surveillance times, swimming is free and under the responsibility of the swimmers.
Cycling and mountain biking
Triathletes have access to several circuits suited to their training:
- A 22km blue mountain bike circuit, signposted “FFC”, for a sporting experience in the great outdoors.
- A 35km local cycling loop, signposted by the Creuse Departmental Council.
- All these routes are clearly identified with the FFTRI logo, which can be seen at the start and on several reminders along the route.
All the walking, mountain biking and cycling circuits start directly from the transition area, making it easy to link up the different disciplines.

Opening times
The Espace Triathlon is open all year round for duathlon and cross duathlon.
Summer season 2025: Due to recent works, swimming will not be permitted on the Courtille lake. As a result, the triathlon and aquathlon will be impossible to run during this period, as the swimming event will not be possible.
Usually supervised by local authority staff as part of the organised swimming, this supervision will not be put in place for the summer of 2025.
