Bascule publique Champagnat

Rural heritage in Champagnat
  • The public weighbridge is an architectural structure. In the Creuse region, it is usually located in the center of a village, or near a church or market place. It was used to determine the weight of any road vehicle or animals such as pigs or cows, or hay and straw etc., and then sell them at a price based on their weight. The Creuse region has kept a number of these, sometimes even in working order. This one is in very good condition.
