  • Stele dedicated to a Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress" that fell on? February 6, 1945. It had just been on a bombing mission over Germany. After being hit by enemy artillery on this mission, it flew south to escape the combat zone, and was evacuated by its passengers over the Ahun region due to a lack of fuel. The flying fortress crashed alone near the village of Les Combes. The stele was inaugurated on June 16, 2006 by Bob Belgam, a retired lieutenant colonel and the plane?s former pilot.
