Lac de Lavaud Gelade

  • With a surface area of 300 hectares, Lac de Lavaud Gelade is one of the largest lakes in the Creuse after Lac de Vassivière. It is a wild and unspoilt site, with a varied landscape and remarkable flora and fauna. This artificial lake, built in 1943 on the Taurion river, is located in the Millevaches Regional Nature Park, between meadows, moors, coniferous and deciduous forests, wetlands and peat bogs. It has been classified as a Natura 2000 zone.
