PATRIMOINE - Croix de granit

In front of the church stands an astonishing two-sided cross-calvary (1431), a naïve masterpiece of granite sculpture that inevitably evokes similar Breton monuments.
It must have stood in front of the former cemetery, which has now been moved. It consists of a monolithic shaft surrounded by a garland of sculpted foliage. One side represents Christ, the other the Virgin.

The 6-metre-high cross was carved from solid stone. It was the victim of an accident during the Revolution, and had to be repaired, as can be seen from the iron ring on the shaft.
