In the heart of a farming estate combining ancestral know-how and organic farming, the La Kreuze microbrewery offers a unique brewing experience. With craft beers made from locally-grown ingredients, a unique hop plantation and Dame Liane’s atypical gardens, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of local, authentic and fully-controlled production.

A unique craft and farmhouse microbrewery in Creuse

La Kreuze is an independent farmhouse microbrewery founded in 2020. Brasserie la Kreuze uses berries, aromatic and medicinal plants and hops grown on site in the gardens of La Dame Liane in its recipes.

It produces two permanent beers, and ephemeral beers that change every week depending on the season and the resources available in its immediate environment. The beers are brewed without automation, using traditional, ancestral methods.

Brasserie La Kreuze also has a brewpub – L’Avalée de la Kreuze – (a beer bar) that sells its beers, as well as all the products of the Kreuze family. The brewpub sells its beers, as well as all the produce from its gardens, and offers boards of local produce to enjoy on site, in the heart of its atypical gardens (hop garden & educational gardens).

Tailor-made tours are organised for anyone who wants to visit the brewery, the hop yard (only from April to the end of September), and find out how beer is made.

La Kreuze is a story of encounters with the world of brewing, coupled with a desire for autonomy, experimentation and sharing within a rural farm.

Around the microbrewery: the hop yard & the gardens of dame liane

Brasserie la KreuZe is one of the only breweries in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region to have its own hop cellar. Set up in 2019, it is made up ofaround ten different cultivars, mainly from Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. These cultivars are selected not only for their brewing properties, but also for their medicinal properties, since they are also used in Dame Liane‘s laboratory to develop unique natural cosmetics. These cultivars are selected for their brewing and medicinal properties, since they are also used in Dame Liane’s laboratory to create unique natural cosmetics based on hops and beer (Le savon à la bière de Dame Liane, Le Baume de Dame liane…).

The gardens also feature aromatic and medicinal plants grown and managed organically, processed directly on site into food and cosmetic products. Yarrow, sage, rosemary, thyme or hyssop…. complete the range of resources available on site to create exceptional local products (flavoured salts, flavoured olive oils, apple juice, etc.) and the reserve of plants and berries used to create the unique beers of the La Kreuze farmhouse microbrewery.

The hops are grown naturally using organic methods, without any inputs, and are planted in an atypical way, using special structures in the form of yurts that are unprecedented in traditional hop growing.

The gardens of the Brasserie la KreuZe run by La Dame Liane are an original and unique example of hop and aromatic plant growing, offering visitors a warm and unusual place to discover traditional know-how, unusual gardens and an exceptional setting for tasting local products and craft beers produced on site.
